International Startup Bootcamp Uganda (Africa) is a one-week program where Belgian students had the opportunity to travel to Kampala, Uganda, to collaborate and learn. With guidance from senior coaches, we coached and supported passionate Ugandan entrepreneurs in developing their business models. During this immersive experience, we also enjoyed exploring their vibrant culture and environment, making it a memorable and impactful week of innovation, learning, and cultural exchange. The Goal:

The goal of the program is to collaboratively coach the company alongside your senior coach, assisting them in developing their business model and verifying their financials to ensure everything adds up. By the end of the day, Ovo (Ondernemers voor Ondernemers vzw) will evaluate whether the company is suitable for ongoing coaching and support. Additionally, I set personal goals for myself before the trip, such as expanding my network, building connections, and gaining practical experience in entrepreneurship and coaching.

The Challenge:

One of the initial challenges was communication, as it was our first time meeting the company and establishing a rapport. We also faced difficulties in addressing discrepancies in their financial numbers and ensuring everything added up correctly. Additionally, a challenge was the lack of a professional PowerPoint presentation, which highlighted the need for better preparation and presentation skills. These experiences taught me the importance of effective communication, attention to detail, and professional presentation in a coaching environment.

The Result

The company showed significant progress, growing and developing a solid business plan. They also improved their presentation skills, creating a more professional PowerPoint. The collaboration with Ovo continued beyond this project, leading to ongoing support. On a personal level, I achieved more than my initial goals and gained invaluable experience. Overall, it was an amazing week filled with learning, growth, and memorable moments.
